Carlisle All-GM Nationals 2008
June 20-22, 2008 / Carlisle, PA
The 8th annual All-GM Nationals at Carlisle helped commemorate a very significant year for General Motors Co. as they celebrate 100 years in business. In addition to large groupings of Camaros and Impalas, the show hosted many other GM vehicles from Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac. Highlights included a 50th Anniversary Reunion of all 1958 GM makes & models, the American Camaro Association's 10th annual Camaro Nationals, the Pontiac Pavilion, featuring some of the cover and feature cars that graced the pages of Pontiac Enthusiast Magazine, a special display celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Impala, one of the most popular models ever produced by the General, and a personal appearance from the popular Transformers movie star, the yellow and black Bumblebee 2009 Camaro, along with other festivities in honor of the General's 100th-Anniversary.
Special guest appearances included Pontiac legend Jim Wangers, noted historian Paul Zazarine, renowned automotive artist David Snyder, drag racing star Bruce Larson, aka "Mr. USA-1", "Miss Hurst" Linda Vaughn, "Jungle Pam" Hardy, Richard Earl, grandson of the late Harley Earl, and Scott Settlemire and other GM executives. The All-GM Nationals featured other Carlisle "regulars" including the Manufacturers Midway, swap meet vendors, beauty and burnout contests, rock crawling, Dyno tuning, and some first time attractions, including a Mechanical Bull, sanctioned lawn mower racing put on by the PA Lawn Mower Racing Association, AND the Rocket Car!
